Children & Phobias
It's not just adults that suffer from anxiety, phobias and related disorders - children as young as 5 years old can suffer debilitating anxiety disorders.
Parents can identify the signs and symptoms of a child's anxiety. Some signs that a child may be anxious or fearful about something may include:
- becoming clingy, impulsive, or distracted
- nervous movements, such as temporary twitches
- problems getting to sleep and/or staying asleep longer than usual
- fear of going to school or social functions
- accelerated heart rate and breathing
- feeling hot and bothered
- sweaty hands
- nausea
- headaches
- stomachaches
Kidzone is designed to help children better understand what is happening to them.
